⚔️ The Forge (Age 25)
Focus: Competence and Real-World Testing
Skill leads to passion, not the other way around. Become rare and valuable.
The Competence Loop
"Follow your passion" is bad advice backwards.
Most people don't know what they're passionate about until they're already good at something. The loop is competence → confidence → taste → passion. You cannot enter the loop by waiting for inspiration. You enter it by getting good enough that the work starts teaching you what it wants to become.
Compound Interest
Save money and habits. A $1 investment in your 20s is $10 in your 40s.
A daily practice installed in your 20s — writing, training, meditation, instrument practice — compounds the same way money does. The 25-year-old who writes 500 words a day and the 25-year-old who waits for "the right moment to start" look identical at 25. By 35 they are not.
Conflict as Intimacy
Learn to have Difficult Conversations. They are the price of real relationships.
Most people under 25 avoid conflict. This is a bug, not a feature. The relationships that matter are precisely the ones where conflict is unavoidable. The skill is not learning to suppress — it is learning to surface disagreement without making the other person disappear.
When this stage is not enough
The Forge is where most people burn out, not because they worked too hard, but because they confused endurance with direction. A hammer can hit the same spot for ten years and produce nothing.
If you are past 25 and feel you missed this stage, the work is the same. The age window is a heuristic, not a law.
