Music video maker for indie artists
The easiest free way to turn your song into a music video in the browser is to open Make Video, load your track and clips from your device (nothing uploads to our servers), preview the timeline with an optional beat-reactive overlay, then record an MP4 or WebM to download.
How it works
Make Video is the quick path from a song file and a folder of clips to a downloadable video — all in one tab.
-
01
Pick your song
Choose an audio file from your device. It stays in your browser storage for this session — not on our servers.
-
02
Add clips
Import videos and stills into the clip library, then place them on the timeline in the order you want.
-
03
Preview & react
Play the timeline on the canvas. Toggle the built-in visualizer for spectrum bars, waveform, and beat pulse over your edit.
-
04
Record & download
Pick an aspect ratio, press record, and save MP4 (or WebM if your browser requires it). No watermark is added in this tool.
What you get (and what to use next)
Make Video focuses on local clip editing and export. When you want layered, style-driven visuals that follow every frequency band, use the engine.
Make Video
Timeline of your clips, transport controls, optional audio-reactive overlay, and MediaRecorder export in four aspect ratios. Best when you already have footage and just need a beat-aware pass and a file out.
Auto-pick style → engine
From Make Video, Auto-pick style analyses your song and opens a matching visual language (Neon, Film, Smoke, and others) with the track preserved. That path is the full audio-reactive compositor — see visual languages.
Formats & lengths
Record manually or auto-stop at 5s, 10s, 30s, 60s, or the full song length. Output presets map to YouTube (16:9), Reels/TikTok (9:16), Instagram square (1:1), and widescreen cinema (2.39:1).
Privacy
Your library and exports stay on your machine unless you sign in to save a project or use optional cloud features. Details in our privacy policy.
FAQ
-
Does it upload my song or clips?
No. Make Video stores media in your browser (IndexedDB) and plays it locally. We do not receive your audio or video files for editing.
-
Is the export watermarked?
Make Video records the preview canvas directly and does not add a watermark layer in that tool. Other pages on the site may use different export rules.
-
MP4 or WebM?
The recorder tries MP4 first (
video/mp4with H.264/AAC when supported). If your browser cannot encode MP4, it falls back to WebM and still downloads locally. -
Can it auto-cut my footage to the beat?
Not in the Make Video timeline itself — you arrange clips there. Beat-synced layer routing and automix live in the main engine; Auto-pick style is the bridge from Make Video into that workflow.
-
Is it really free?
Yes. The tool runs in your browser with no subscription. Optional paid services on the site (renders, licenses) are separate and never required to use Make Video.
-
What audio files work?
Any format your browser can decode (typically MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC). Analysis for BPM and key uses the same in-browser pipeline as the rest of the engine.
