Terms
MIT license for the engine, plus terms for the service tier and Personal Tier. Last updated 2026-08-17.
1. The engine — MIT License
The Sainted Word Records audio-reactive video engine (all files under /, /presets/, /preset-pipeline/, /versions/, and the supporting client modules) is released under the MIT License.
MIT License Copyright (c) 2026 Kai Djuric Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software. 2. The engine — acceptable use
You may use the engine for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. The engine ships with a watermark on exports. Removing the watermark via the engine's UI is reserved for Personal Tier licensees (see §4).
You may not:
- Resell the engine itself as a hosted product. (A service that uses the engine to render music videos for clients is fine — see §3.)
- Ship a build that falsely claims Personal Tier licensing. (The engine doesn't phone home, but the spirit of the license is that PT is paid — see §4.)
- Use the engine to produce content that infringes third-party rights (copyrighted music you don't have rights to, defamatory imagery, etc.).
3. Service tier — "I render for you"
You submit a song + (optionally) a library. The service team produces a 1080p WebM. Three pre-curated media sets, plus a custom-source option.
- Delivery. 48 hours from payment confirmation, business days only.
- Rights. You receive a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to the rendered WebM. The media sets themselves remain the studio's IP — you may not resell or redistribute the raw media, but you may use the rendered video in any project (music videos, social posts, performance visuals, etc.).
- Refunds. If the rendered video is materially different from the brief (different BPM response, missing assets, broken export), we re-render once for free. After that, refunds are at our discretion.
- Source material. You must have the rights to the song + library you submit. We don't accept copyrighted material without proof of license.
4. Personal Tier (PT) — engine license for yourself
Buying a PT key removes the engine's watermark on exports and gives you a per-tier credit bank for future features (MP4 export, 4K vertical, multi-seat).
- Format.
swr-{tier}-{code}, e.g.swr-band-A1B2C3D4. - Tiers.
- PT Solo · €120 · 50 credits · 1 seat · 1 year of updates
- PT Band · €280 · 150 credits · 1 seat · 2 years + priority support
- PT Label · €600 · 500 credits · 5 seats · lifetime updates
- License scope. Removes the engine's watermark on exports. Credits bank is for future features (v1.1 MP4 export, v1.3 4K vertical). The engine itself is and remains MIT-licensed — your PT key doesn't change the engine's open-source status, it just unlocks features inside the running app.
- No telemetry. Your key is stored in your
localStorage. We don't see your usage. - Key format. MVP — the key is not cryptographically signed. Don't expect DRM. (A signed-license + Stripe-webhook flow is on the roadmap for v1.1.)
- Refunds. Within 14 days of purchase, if the engine doesn't work for you, we'll refund. After 14 days, no refunds on PT keys.
- Resale. You may not resell your PT key. Tier is per-seat; for a team, buy the Label tier or multiple Solo/Band keys.
5. Refunds & support

6. Liability
The engine is provided "as is" under MIT. The service tier is provided with reasonable care but no SLA. We don't accept liability for indirect damages (lost revenue, lost data, etc.) beyond the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. Governing law
Serbia. Disputes handled in the courts of Belgrade.
8. Changes
Material changes to these terms are committed to the public repository with a changelog entry. Continuing to use the engine after a change means you accept the new terms.
